What is dental prosthetics?
Dental prosthetics is the branch of dentistry that deals with replacing one or more lost teeth, but also with restoring damaged teeth and correcting aesthetic irregularities such as a change in the shape or colour of the teeth. The aim of prosthetic treatment is not only to restore a beautiful smile, but also to re-establish proper chewing function and speech and to preserve the long-term health of the oral cavity.
At the Dentico dental centre we create an individual treatment plan for every patient in order to find the prosthetic solution that best suits their needs, wishes and possibilities.
When is dental prosthetics needed?
Prosthetics is recommended when one or more teeth are missing, when a tooth is significantly damaged or when you wish to improve the appearance of your smile. Timely prosthetic treatment prevents further problems such as shifting of the neighbouring teeth, difficult chewing or changes in the bite.
- one or more missing teeth
- major damage to a tooth that cannot be repaired with a filling
- a change in the shape or colour of the teeth
- difficulties chewing food
- edentulism of one or both jaws
- a wish for a more functional and aesthetically more beautiful smile
What does prosthetic treatment look like?
Every prosthetic treatment begins with a detailed examination and diagnostics so that we can assess the condition of your teeth, jaws and supporting tissue. We then create an individual treatment plan and choose together the prosthetic solution that will best meet the functional and aesthetic requirements.
Depending on your case, treatment may include the fabrication of dental crowns, bridges, dentures or prosthetic restorations on implants.
Prosthetic solutions we offer
Dental crowns
Crowns are a permanent solution for severely damaged teeth that can no longer be restored with a filling, or for teeth that are aesthetically unsatisfactory in shape or colour. We use high-quality materials that ensure a natural appearance and durability.
Dental bridges
Bridges replace one or more missing teeth and restore chewing function, a correct bite and the aesthetics of your smile.
Crowns and bridges on implants
When one or more teeth are missing, implants provide a permanent base for crowns or bridges. This solution offers exceptional stability, a natural feel and long-term functionality.
Full and partial dentures
Dentures are a solution for patients who are missing several or all of their teeth and for whom fixed prosthetic treatment is not possible or is not the first choice. Modern fabrication provides greater comfort and a more natural appearance.
All-on-4 and All-on-6
All-on-4 and All-on-6 are modern implant-prosthetic methods that allow a fixed bridge to be made on four or six implants respectively. For suitable candidates, a temporary fixed restoration can be placed within 24 to 48 hours after the procedure.
Implant-supported dentures
When All-on-4 or All-on-6 cannot be performed or the patient prefers a removable solution, an implant-supported denture provides considerably greater stability, confidence while chewing and greater comfort compared to conventional dentures.
