What is dental diagnostics?
Dental diagnostics is the first and most important step towards a healthy smile. During a detailed examination we assess the condition of your teeth, gums and the entire oral cavity so that we can detect existing problems in time and create an individual treatment plan tailored to your needs.
An intraoral examination allows us to detect caries, tartar, inflammatory changes, damage to the teeth and aesthetic irregularities that can affect the health, function and appearance of your smile.
When is dental diagnostics needed?
A diagnostic examination is recommended on your first visit to the practice, before any dental procedure and whenever you notice pain, sensitivity or other changes in the oral cavity. Regular check-ups make it possible to detect problems early, when treatment is simpler, faster and less invasive.
- first visit to the practice
- pain or sensitivity of the teeth
- bleeding or inflammation of the gums
- suspected caries or damage to a tooth
- before prosthetic, implantological or surgical procedures
- regular preventive check-ups of oral health
What does the examination look like?
The examination begins with a conversation about your oral health and a detailed intraoral examination. If needed, we analyse a digital orthopantomogram or CBCT scan in order to gain complete insight into the condition of your teeth, roots and the surrounding bone.
After the examination we create an individual treatment plan and explain the findings, the recommended procedures and all treatment options so that you can make an informed decision.
Modern diagnostics for more precise treatment planning
At the Dentico dental centre we use modern digital diagnostics, which allows precise planning of every procedure. A digital orthopantomogram and CBCT provide a detailed view of the teeth and jaw, while we use a digital RVG device to monitor the success of treatment as it progresses.
